a continuation and refinement of my senior capstone project

I made a personal objective to revisit the concept of creating pieces out of 'thank you' bags during the pandemic lockdown. The original technique from my first exhibition needed quite a bit of refinement, and I figured giving it another go could create more adjustable, durable garments. These images document the discovery of a new assembly method using additional materials: layered packaging tape, metal grommets, jewelry chains, and lobster claps. The second line is still underway, and I'm proud of the evolved method used resulting in an industrial look.

I rarely return to a project from the past. THX4NTH (thank you for nothing) will forever hold a special place in my heart. The practice helped me gain the courage to confront several insecurities from my past. I found the confidence to take pride in my experiences as a whole (even the parts I wished to throw away in an effort to forget). The authenticity and storytelling within this series are worth sharing as they often motivate me to return to this site with updates as I continue to grow as an artist. ︎︎︎
